Words of Power are sorcery spells formed using a Focus, such as the Arcane Staff.
Words are spoken as they are selected from floating stones etched with mystical symbols.

Divination[]
"Part the veil of time and space to glimpse the past, present, and future."
Reveal Corruption[]
"Reveal nearby corrupted objects and those with arcane corruption."
- No casting cost.
A drumming beat can be heard while the player character (not camera) is facing in the direction of a corrupted individual.
Lasts for five minutes or until the Arcane Staff is put away.
Detect Resources[]
"Focus on rare resources in the natural world, revealing nearby deposits."
- No casting cost.
Causes uncommon and rare resource nodes to glow with ghostly waves that can be seen through solid objects.
Doubles the chances to harvest special resources (gives Careful Harvest; does not stack if you already have Careful Harvest).
This is a toggled spell; the effect is permanent until it is cast again.
Crystal cannot be detected.

Imbue Wisp[]
"The sorcerer imbues a soul onto their own flesh, illuminating their path."

Summons a glowing green wisp that follows the player, acting as a hands-free light source.
This is a toggled spell; the effect is permanent until it is cast again.
Embed Wisp[]
"The sorcerer imbues a soul onto a fixed point, illuminating the area."
- No casting cost.
Launches a wisp in the direction the player is aiming until it collides with a solid object to act as a short-lasting localized light source.
If the wisp does not hit anything, it will stop after travelling the distance of about 23 foundations.
Lasts for ten minutes.

Call of the Dead[]
"Call forth a terrible fog and undead horde within."

Causes the area about 80 meters around the player to be filled with a dense fog while numerous zombies raise from the ground.
Each zombie is quite weak, only having 100 health each.
The zombies will wander around in the fog aimlessly until an enemy is detected.
Lasts for three minutes, but zombies will begin dying randomly after around two minutes.
This is an area of effect spell that can be countered by any other area of effect spell.

Call of Nergal[]
"Call forth a bat demon from the abyss."

Summons a bat demon that picks the player up and can fly them around for a short time.
The bat demon cannot be summoned in a confined environment.
The bat demon has 400 stamina (+30 per point of corrupted Authority, up to 1000).
Stamina drains quite rapidly in flight and when manually gaining elevation with the jump button.
Running out of stamina, colliding with any solid object, nearing the ground, or pressing the crouch button will cause the bat demon to drop the player.
Illusion[]
"Make the unreal seem real to trick the five senses."
Conceal Corruption[]
"Conceal the physical effects of corruption."

Causes the player's features to remain unchanged when they become corrupted.
This is a toggled spell; the effect is permanent until it is cast again.

Mirror Mark[]
"The sorcerer splinters its soul to conjure a mirror duplicate that enrages enemies."

Creates an ethereal clone of the player nearby that strongly draws the aggro of enemies.
The clone has 100 health and will disappear when it has been inflicted with too much damage.
The clone does not attack or move around, but will go through the motions of casting spells which does cause it to take a step forward with each casting sequence.
The clone glows in the dark, but does not cast any light to the surrounding area except during specific points in the casting sequence.
Lasts four minutes.
Invisibility Self[]
"The sorcerer channels the power of illusion to render themselves unable to be seen."

Turns the player invisible.
NPCs cannot see the player, even if one stands directly in front of them.
Casting the spell will cause enemies to lose aggro from the player.
To other players, an invisible sorcerer will look like a glassy figure, see-through but visible, especially if moving.
Attacking or interacting with objects will cancel the effect, but drawing weapons, climbing, and taking damage will not.
Lasts five minutes or until cancelled.
Thaumaturgy[]
"Shape the raw forces of nature and reality itself."
Ice Bridge[]
"Summon a frozen bridge to traverse a gap."

Creates a temporary bridge out of ice in the direction the player is aiming.
Cannot cast this spell while standing on an ice bridge, disallowing the construction of extensions.
Maximum range is approximately eight blocks.
Lasts forty seconds.
Slow Fall[]
"Conjure gusts of air to slow descent and make it safe to fall from any height."

Slows falling speed, allowing the player to fall from great heights without taking damage.
This spell does not actually reduce terminal velocity, it reduces gravitational acceleration and prevents fall damage.
This spell also affects jumping, allowing one to jump higher and farther than normal.
Carrying capacity is increased by 30 for the duration.

Wall of Fire[]
"Summon molten magma from the planet's core, causing it to erupt from the ground."

Causes lava to burst up and harden in a ring of about five-by-five blocks around the caster.
The ring is not a solid barrier, having several openings.
The hardened lava can be climbed.

Mass Cull[]
"Harvests and recalls minerals in an area around the caster."

Harvests all resources up to a distance of 30 meters around the player.
Harvesting power is approximately equal to a steel Pickaxe, though it is not equivalent to any actual tool.
Creeping Darkness[]
"Channel pure darkness and terror to surround your being."

Causes a dense darkness filled with spider webs and sounds of nonexistent monsters in an area 80 meters around the player.
Walking over spider webs significantly slows movement speed.
Bright sources of light, such as Radium Gem Standing Torches will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the darkness.

Lightning Storm[]
"Harness the primal forces of raw nature by calling forth a lightning storm."

Creates a lightning storm about 40 meters around the player with 1-4 random lightning strikes every six seconds.
Lightning inflicts random damage and can cause damage at range to multiple creatures or objects near a strike.
Lasts two minutes.
