The King Beneath, formerly the Priestking and alternatively the Barrow King, is a Dungeon Boss in Conan Exiles.

Description[]

The Priestking was one of the Triumvirate, the trio of leaders that guided the empire of Giant-kings and the empire's spiritual head. A deeply devoted fanatic of the Old God Set, he would preside over his people's spirits and their rituals of faith. He once lead rituals to summon demonic entities from the Outer Dark at the Summoning Place.

He carried a well-known hatred of humans, and reputation for passion and volatility. Curiously, he would take part in an affair with a human that led to the birth of the half-giant, half-human champion, Tyros the Deathbringer. Tyros' ability was apparent, and would eventually be entrusted with leading the defense of the giant-kings' realm during their war with the Lemurians.

Ironically, an affair with the Lemurian princess would lead Tyros to betray his father's people, an act that would infuriate the Priestking. Meeting in the fields of the north, both father and son would clash and ultimately fall in battle. Though mere death was not enough to sate the Priestking's fury; using the power of the Diadem, he'd curse his son, as well as all the men loyal to his command, to an endless undeath, leading Tyros to rise again as The Kinscourge.

"Awoken... by a mortal?"

For burial, the Priestking was interred within a great barrow carved into the side of a mountain, in the western reaches of the Mounds of the Dead. So potent is the magic of his diadem that he himself would rise again, becoming known as the King Beneath.

Gameplay[]

Upon death, harvesting his corpse will drop the Diadem of the Giant-kings, one of six artifacts necessary to complete the Keystone, well as a large amount of Demon Blood.

Combat[]

Uses a similar animation skeleton to that of the player and other humanoid enemies, and has the moveset for one-handed swords.

  • Don't dodge away from his attacks as he has massive reach, instead dodge into him and try to get behind him as he attacks.

Location[]

Having at least one Demon Blood in your inventory is necessary to open the slab to his arena. It is not consumed on use.
