The only description of a longsword that seems to be agreed upon is that they are double-bladed and straight. Beyond that they vary wildly from grooved blades to smooth blades, long hilts to short hilts, one-handed and two-handed variations. This example is plain, straight and intended to be wielded in a single hand.
