Because of their relative isolation beyond the Mountains of Night, the peoples of the West imagine Khitai as a peaceful nation, untouched by the chaotic wars that regularly engulf the kingdoms of the West. The reality is, however, that any country with smiths capable of creating a weapon that looks like this is no stranger to war and violence.
Mauls and warhammers are slow to swing and leave their user vulnerable to counterattack, but when they connect they are brutally effective. Armored foes are particularly vulnerable to these massive blunt weapons which break bones, shatter skulls and crush spines.
