To journey across the Thurian continent is a long and perilous task. Only the most hardened or desperate of mercenaries take work protecting the jade and silk-laden caravans that set out from mysterious empire of Khitai.
The arduous journey takes its toll upon their armor and thus certain smiths and leatherworkers of the west have become specialists in its repair. In time, they have even learned to replicate it to some level of success.
To cross the world requires solid footwear, but what is best for trudging is not necessarily what is best for battle. This footgear is designed to protect the soles of the feet from the unending journey, but does not offer significant protection in battle.
