Strengthened with iron, this targe sacrifices some of its manoeuvrability for additional durability. The knobs on the front of the shield are designed to notch the weapons and claws of foes.
The rivets and design work do not point to a particular cultural tradition, but rather reflect the experimental nature of smith work in the Exiled Lands.
The targe is a shield designed for attack as much as defence. A well placed strike with the shield can stagger an enemy and leave them open to attacks from a weapon in the main hand.
