Description[]

The Well of Skelos is a dungeon made up of the ancient, crumbling ruins of a Serpentman city buried deep within the Volcano.

The most direct route to reach the Well of Skelos is via a path reached through the Dragonmouth entrance to the volcano. This path is narrow, with lava on both sides, making it difficult for thralls to navigate it safely. A circular, multi-level structure houses the entrance to the dungeon - it is populated with a variety of potential Thralls and Serpentmen.

The swirling vortex at the center of the structure must be jumped into in order to access the dungeon, which will safely drop the player within the Well proper. Inside this dungeon are the forge, the final boss and the Obsidian Gear recipes.

Layout[]

The Volcanic Forge is located at an overlook a short distance from the entryway, with orange energy tendrils pulsing around it.

Within the Well, the serpentmen guard many areas such as the forge and will become hostile when the player gets close. Human thralls will also become hostile as the player engages in combat. The descent down towards the bottom of the volcano and to the throne of the Degenerate is started by taking the left-hand path from the forge and following the edge of the pit. Along the way, there are several branching dead ends and a few mild platforming sections which may involve jumping over lava to reach chests of loot.

The Degenerate's throne and the The Shining Trapezohedron he holds can be found at the ancient temple at the very bottom of the volcano.

Climbing point to collect Serpentman Recipes

Serpent-Man Weapons are learned from a stele on the top floor of the structure housing the well. To get to this location, the player should proceed to the third floor by taking the internal stairs then the external stairs. At the third floor, you can either climb up the outside of the last section, or from the inside, by climbing one of the arches and stand next to the flaming sconce, then climb up the pillar to the upper floor.

This climb will require high heat-tolerance to avoid taking damage (which causes the player to fall) as well as sufficient stamina to avoid becoming exhausted. Climbing Boots and Climbing Gloves can be useful, but should not be necessary. The top floors are typically populated by 4 - 5 Serpentman Brutes.
