An easter egg is an intentional hidden message, inside joke, or feature in a work such as a computer program, web page, video game, television program, movie, book, or crossword. Conan Exiles features several easter eggs hidden within the game.

Mixmaster Festus	This is a reference to a Futurama episode, where a D.J. by the same name is playing at the Wong ranch.
Nepthea of the Shade	Based on "Nepenthea", a dev from Age of Conan, who also did a fan-map of Anarchy Online.
Rethrous the Burdened	Named after a friend of a developer that plays that always kept carrying everything around when they went raiding.
Saddur the Slaver	From Age of Conan, the first fat man you fight to gain access to Tortage.
Shawna the Strange	This is a reference to the streamer "Shawn the Wierd".
Smith Raden	This is a reference to Jaden Smith, whose twitter never ceased to amuse Robtheswede.
Tarman	Based on a zombie from The Return of the Living Dead 1 and 2.
Thorvald Tree-Hater	Based on a character Robtheswede played in a DnD campaign, a hunter that hated the forest and preferred hunting his prey in the skies because at least there, there are no trees in the way.

Crocodile (Jungle)	If you walk up to the Cursewall in the jungle just behind the Giant Crocodile (Legendary Creature) and wait a few seconds, a crocodile crawls out of the water outside of the barrier and walks across the beach toward you, then turns to the left and swims back into the water and disappears behind a rock. A reddit user thought it was a reference to the Egyptian god Sobek. The Sentinels	Behind the statue of the Sentinels from the north shore you find a Rawhide Bedroll, a note (unrelated) and nearby a bloody corpse with four murderbunnies around it. Icespire Chasm	A ghost soldier is found here. He appears out of the ice when you take down the stones beneath him. This ghost is not directly part of the lore like most ghosts are, nor is he found to be a reference to anything else than the Exiled Lands backstory. Warmaker's Sanctuary	Standing behind an indestructible wall of ice, a giant Yeti can be found guarding two chests in a dark sideroom of the Ice Halls. El's Drinker	Refers to Stormbringer, which was wielded by Elric of Melniboné in Conan the Barbarian. El's Drinker is also a reference to the 1993 PC game Dark Sun: Shattered Lands which featured a sword of the same name, with the same properties. This is further implied by the mention of "shattered lands" in the weapon's description.
Elephant Hide	The short description for Elephant Hide is "Where?" as in A) Elephant, hide! b) Where?
Jedias Greatsaber	Is a reference to the Jedi and their lightsabers from Star Wars.	It "glows and hums".
Ladder	Its description refers to the author of all the item descriptions.
Last Words (Note)	Can be found on a isolated cliff in the Wine Cellar. Its description reads "crap!".

Splinter	A reference to Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The Bane of Khosatral Khel	Khosatral Khel, a demi-god or demon, was featured in the Robert E. Howard story "The Devil in Iron".
The Shining Trapezohedron	Is a fictional artifact appearing in H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Haunter of the Dark".
The Unintelligible	Has some absolutely unintelligible description.	This was suspected to be a puzzle, but has so far not been solved as the resulting translations were not helpful.
The Wyrd	This item is based on the youtuber ShawnTheWeird.

	BPGameItem_RiddleOfSteel_wpn_IncreasePenetration (Blueprint Class)	DevKit. The Riddle of Steel was originally supposed to be the name of a series of feats that gave you access to the weapon and armor mod kits, which is why it is named like this.

"April Fools"	If you took the first letter of each sentence in the 2019 April Fools announcement blog, it spells "April Fools".
"Don't eat yellow snow"	A loading screen description, possibly referring to the similairly named track by Frank Zappa or the real life safety concern.[citation needed]
"Savages"	If you take the first letter of all the attributes and work your way down it spells "savages", which is the reason stamina is called grit. The system was given this name by Joel Bylos. It may also be an easter egg that refers to Bethesda's Fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck) attributes system.
"Look upon our works, ye mighty, and despair!"	The last sentence at The Sentinels Lorestone is a reference to the poem "Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

The only Conan Exiles content added to Age of Conan is for people who, during a certain period, bought the Barbarian Edition. For example, a rune with a buff called "Exile" is randomly applied for a short period of time.

•  Goat-Horn Bow: Reference to a story, about a goat, from one of the runner-ups in the building contest.
•  Firespark Arrow: This is a reference to youtuber Firespark81. They stack to 81 instead of 100. (video - channel)
• Bonepile east of The Silkwood is dedicated to Neebs Gaming. (video - channel)
• A big bronze door is found between The Den and the ruins with the Child of Jhebbal Sag. It has four levers, two on each side. Pull them and hear what happens. This is also a reference to Neebs Gaming, but this time for being trapped. (video)
• There is a third Neebs Gaming easter egg.^{[citation needed]}
• Just Horse also has an easter egg, an axe created by a mad black smith named 'jhus thorse'.^{[citation needed]}
• Jumping Puzzle: This is not a dungeon. You will not need to traverse a Jumping Puzzle in order to complete a dungeon. Climbing armors, such as climbing boots and gloves, will not help with completing this puzzle.

• Relic Hunter Journal mentions 'Krysez', refering to the modder Krysez (Steam Workshop)
• Ignatius the Greedy may be a reference to Community Support Ignasi Miró Sastre.
• Ruins of al-Merayah may be an in-house reference.^{[citation needed]}
• The Shining Trapezohedron is a reference to H. P. Lovecraft's short story "The Haunter of the Dark". In this story, it is used to summon Nyarlathotep, who would then reveal arcane knowledge in exchange for human sacrifices.
  • According to the story, this stone was originally created on the planet Yuggoth and was brought to Earth by the Old Ones prior to humanity's existence. It has been associated with Atlantis and the ancient Egyptians. It was last recovered from the Tomb of Nephren-Ka.
  • Though it doesn't appear in any of Robert E. Howard's official Conan works, the inclusion of the object in this game is a definite nod to the collaborations Howard often had with H. P. Lovecraft.

• Tower of Bats - When the Awakened Staff of the Triumvirate is in the Altar of the Bat, two fires behind the altar will be lit which each shoot a beam of light into the portal behind the altar, which then lights up. It currently does not lead anywhere.
• The Temple of Frost - The main room features a large portal in the back wall. It currently does not lead anywhere.^{[citation needed]}
