Zaporavo, known as the Hawk, was a nobleman in Zingara known for his dueling prowess, defeating all of the champions of Kordava to become a premiere swordsman in the kingdom.

However, due to his pride, Zaporavo was unable to allow himself to lose. During a bout with the King of Zingara, where tradition demands that the king be allowed to win, Zaporavo drew first blood.

The king was furious and Zaporavo was exiled. He cast his dueling blade from the docks of Kordava, and then left the city forever, becoming the Captain of the Wastrel and a terror to those who sailed the Zingaran coastline.

It is not known how the sword came to the Exiled Lands, but the wielder is blessed with great agility, as if the Hawk himself were watching them with dark, brooding eyes.
