The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

  • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
  • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
  • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
  • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
  • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Current Issues[]

Exploration tab[]

At the homepage you have different icons for different subjects like crafting and locations. But emotes don't fit under any. Perhaps locations could be a good place I'm almost certain that people would like a one tab with all emotes and it's locations rather then having to search endlessly across the wiki for all the emotes. Hereby I would like to request an exploration tab to address all emotes and recipes that can be found around the map. Bearbombastic (talk) 02:22, 23 March 2018 (CET)

Emotes have all been added now. Stormknightuk (talk) 16:12, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Image upload[]

The image upload for the resource map is not working. I have uploaded a new version of the map with more locations and it still shows as the old map in the file list. I can supply the image through other means if needed. fatalmind (talk)

So the image needs to be sometimes refreshed, or it just takes a bit to clear the cache and show up properly. (although if you link it, the new file should work fine.) Looks like it's all good to me now though. Z3ther (talk) 18:55, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

File mover rights[]

Hello,
I would like to Harmonize names of icons, which are commonly used when linking resources to receipes of items. Few examples:

  • Icon ironstoneIcon_iron_ore-1.png
  • Icon sewerbeast swordIcon_sewerbeast_sword.png
  • Icon metalworking benchIcon_metalworking_bench.png

Also I will have a look for doubled files, for example:

  • Icon_Sewer_Dungeon_Boss.png
  • Icon sewer dungeon featIcon_sewer_dungeon_feat.png

I will harmonize those names this way:

  • Icon_ingame_item_name.png

Which will make it much easier for usage when creating new items. It is annoying to pernamently search for icon names, to find out if it is with capital letters, with -1, or named absolutly differently from ingame name. Thank you

So the names are based on what they are in the data system, and that info is used quite a bit in the wiki, I'd recommend giving a day or two as a chance for anyone else to comment if they have feelings on the matter. However I'm alright with the change if you want to put in the effort for all the files. Cheers! --Z3ther (talk) 10:33, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
The file names MUST NOT BE CHANGED as we use data extracts from the game and scripts, to automate the update process. Changing the filenames just means that someone needs to change them back (or upload again and we then have duplicates). The changes that RuneKnight made are having to be reverted, which is time consuming. Stormknightuk (talk) 16:11, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Would like to post some guides but was blocked...[]

I've been doing a lot of building guides for Conan Exiles on Youtube and saw the solicitation for people to post guides on the building page here: https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Building

However when I added a link to a guide I got the following error: "The text you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to a blacklisted external site.

The following text is what triggered our spam filter: youtu.be/XRL2lCW0hEs This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and therefore disallowed.

If you believe your action was constructive, please inform an administrator of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Global AF - New user adding link at end or in heading"

Anyway I'd love to add the guides I have made but cannot seem to get past this error. Thanks Wikkydgaming (talk)

Gamepedia has a global filter preventing new users from posting external links - annoying, but understandable. You should be okay to post it now.

PT/BR Translation[]

Hi, I see that someone tried to translate de wiki to portugues, but is nort happening. he made the home page and more 5 ou 6.

I Already have speciality in wikia translation, and in translation of games as a professional. I'm a bit free for now, but as asson I back to work I will need go slow.

I read the page about translation, and there say that we should alert the admin about what are we doing, so, let me know if is everthing is ok!

Bye,, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Garrasdalua (talkcontribs) at 03:53, 17 October 2017‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Yeah, someone started the translation and then disappeared. We would appreciate any help you can provide!
-- Mr Pie 5 (talk) 02:13, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Hi again, I started to work on the translation. As I see in the pages explaining how we do the translation, I'm placing the "/pt-br" on every page I created, and also adding it to a category Pt-br Translation. Is a bit double work to place this, but I understand that after in the future, when we have more pages to create a pt-br wiki we could simply move all this pages for its new home, right? Do you know how it works ( or how many pages we need to have this working)? the main page is already translated, Conan_Exiles_Wiki/pt-br , and as i progress in the creation of pages is been a bit hard to place this tag and category in all...— Preceding unsigned comment added by Garrasdalua (talkcontribs) at 16:29, November 4, 2017‎ (UTC). Oh, I see you've been very busy while I was gone. Yes, this is more than enough to get a translation project started. I'll let you know when it's ready (shouldn't be more than a day at most). The category will make it easy to find all the pages that need to be moved, and it's something that can very easily be removed by a bot afterwards.
-- Mr Pie 5 (talk) 19:32, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
That was quick than I though! good! will be a lot of easier to work, many things will work better now! I have worked on wikis before, but this one is really nice and well done, the templates well explained and clean, this is why is been easy to work! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Garrasdalua (talkcontribs) at 08:38, November 6, 2017‎ (UTC). Due to some issues with creating new wikis post-migration, the subdomain is going to be delayed until such issues can be ironed out. I don't have an ETA on when this will be, but I'll let you know as soon as it's ready. In the meantime, you're welcome to continue translating here - moving the translated pages to the new subdomain once it's available is a very easy process if all the translated pages are in that common category.
-- Mr Pie 5 (talk) 05:47, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
Oh, thats bad :-(... I willl do this , keep translating and placing in the category. some of the page will receive a "/pt-br" after the name, as the names is the same. The others I will translate and place in the category, is that?Garrasdalua (talk) 17:03, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, one doubt related to the images. I'm using the same images this wiki uses. when it separes to a pt-br, I will need to resend the images? This doubt covers the templates also. Some of them I translated and already using the new translated versions, but I knw that are some templates that is still the same. They will work after migration? 152.250.118.48 23:27, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
All translations of a wiki share the same images. If you like, you can create redirects to those images using the translated names, and that would allow you to link images using their translations, but otherwise, [[File:Camel.jpg]] would do the same thing there as it would here. And to answer your previous question that I neglected, if you're translating the page names, you don't need to include the /pt-br as long as you're including the category.
-- Mr Pie 5 (talk) 05:14, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your answers! Good to know that I'm the right direction!. I will leave just a few pages with the /pt-br, because they have exact same name (like gods names, they don't have a translation.) and I need to translate them. I will keep working! thanks again, 152.250.118.48 21:08, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi! I saw the migration of the wikito the new host. Do you know if there are any update about the pt-br subforum creation? Thanks , Garrasdalua 14:31, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
We're doing a translation subproject on Astroneer to make sure all the bugs with new wikis are reasonably stomped out. If all goes well, we'll get yours in the next couple of days. Thanks for your patience and continued effort throughout this whole process!
-- Mr Pie 5 (talk) 17:08, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

this are great news! I'm translating the templates to be easier to new colaboradors in pt use it, and I really wanto to see how they will work after migrtaion, to check if they work fine. And when I have a pt-br link, I can spread the news into to sul america servers and try to reunite some more hands to work. As for now, I'm keeping the work!. I have seen a need in servers for a spanish wiki too, I'm help many latin brothers with theyr doubts, but I will firt keep the pt-br in work and after that check a possibility of helping them to create a spanish one. Please keep informed! Garrasdalua (talk) 13:32, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi! Conan Pt-br is at full work! thank you again for your help, and I want to ask a last thing: Can you change at the main page of the wiki :"Conan Exiles Wiki in: English, Français and Portugues. Consider adding a translation." That should help the Brazilian and Portuguese users to find te new page! Thanks, 173.38.117.67

Done. I've also added it to the community section of the front page.

Italian Traslation[]

Hi community! I'm translating first entries in Italian but I've a problem. I can't modify table template group, i.e. Creature, weapons and so on. For moment, I'm recoping manually but it's very heavy. Any suggest?

My first one is https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/How_To_Play_Guide_For_Conan_Exiles/it?markasread=74820

Hey there
Currently, we have green light for any translations. I would like to know if you're wanting to help translate the wiki to Spanish. There was(/is) another person with the same question some time ago, but we were doing maintenance. (Scroll up)
If you need help translating, ask Mr Pie 5. Although, I recommend that you join the fan-made Conan Exiles discord. See my UserProfile for the invite link. It has a channel for the wiki. TheLOLxd2 (talk) 20:52, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Fighter Hitpoints[]

Hello, I was attempting to add hitpoints to the fighters table, however, it told me as follows. I would have attached an xls that has all the data with the hitpoints but that is also not allowed. I don't know why hitpoints would not be allowed on this page, or if its because of a name in the list but I figure it is usefull for figuring out who I want to camp, so it may be to others as well. I have uploaded it to google drivehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/15TPWAjMZNycir2QQPYiemlG1bjuiel3q/view?usp=sharing. Hello Stephen Pershaw. I'm not an admin, but I read your entry here. I don't know where you tried to make these entries, but since I already had the Hitpoints for fighters, archers, entertainers and bearers on my todo list, i took your table and made the corresponding entries here fighter. Thank you very much for your effort. SirBowen (talk) 22:53, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

Change to Hyena and Vanir Heavy [Epic] sets[]

Changes made to Vanir Heavy Armor set [Epic] from +3 cold res to +1 Changes made to Hyena Fur Armor set [Epic] from +2 cold res to +1

it's not the number of bars we show in the infobox. it's the plain value the game use to calculate the resistance. Testerle (talk) 04:43, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

code for weapons section appear broken, every weapon is showing HTML code instead of image and link?[]

  • If you run into that again, Purge or Purge Cache under the More menu at the top should fix it. Jimathome (talk) 19:40, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
    • there isn't one that i can see? i even did an in page search for the word 'more' and couldn't find it.
      • Look at the top of the page, to the right of History and left of the Search box. I do not know if it appears if you are not logged in. Jimathome (talk) 17:48, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
        • it does not, apparently. you have to be logged in to see it.

Locations & Interactive Map[]

Currently, (most) thrall pages include links through to the interactive map with magnifying glass icons showing potential spawn locations for that thrall.

But the pages for locations (e.g. Camps, Caves, Dungeons etc.) only provide a static map image showing a small section of the map immediately surrounding that particular location. Being a static image, you can't pan or zoom to get a better idea of where the location is on the map. And, the interactive map doesn't appear to allow filtering down to a particular location name either. So, in order to find a particular location (e.g. "Warren of degenerates"), you have to tick the box for that type of location (e.g. "Caves"), then start clicking each each icon on the map to reveal their labels and continue doing so until you find the one with the label matching the location you're looking for.

Can the pages for locations also be set to include links through to the interactive map with only that particular location's icon shown on the map (or at least centered & zoomed to that location)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.120.208.71 (talkcontribs) at 04:48, 9 March 2020 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The short answer is no, sorry. The longer answer is that the Location pagename data are not stored in the database that drives the map function. While I agree this would be potentially a good add (not replacement), the current implementation seems sufficient since the map grid is clearly shown and locating it on the map should be quite easy. Implementation of the interactive Map function would also open a new tab in your browser, essentially duplicating opening the Map which shares the same grid references. The use of the interactive Map shines when there are multiple locations; single points, not so much :)

Sleep on Back[]

Sleep on Back should be a stub. Could you change it please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lightthepedieditor (talkcontribs) at 18:58, February 23, 2021. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

An article is a stub when it has little content. When it has no content, it can be considered as non-wiki page creation, which I don't recommend. If Sleep on Back exists in-game on the live version without mods and you can give a basic description, you can mark it as a stub yourself by typing {{stub}} in the editor. The excessive use of the usually unnecessary and pointless use of the Oxford/Serial comma[]

I know there are endless debates out there on the internet about the use of the Oxford/Serial comma. That comma may be justified in certain constellations, but 99% of the time it's not, or 100% of the time it's not if you're just changing the order of the listing. And that's why we don't use that extra comma on the Conan Exiles Wiki. I'm aware, if you grew up with it, that it's hard to avoid it in the rush of writing, but I'd like to ask you to refrain from it as much as possible to keep the wiki consistent in style. Rule: Do follow community guidelines for formatting. It costs time not only for the writer but also for the reader. To dive a little deeper into the topic, I recommend this article. https://www.dailycal.org/2020/02/28/the-case-against-the-oxford-comma/ Greetings SirBowen SirBowen (talk) 06:42, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Somebody’s edit borked the priests page.[]

Somebody’s edit messed up the priests page, I tried to undo the edit but it didn’t fix it. It no longer has links or information on the boxes about the priests.

Please do not delete content or undo edits if you are not sure that it will fix the issue. In this particular case, only a purge of the page was necessary (menu 'More' => 'Purge'). The edited content had only indirectly to do with it. Testerle (talk) 05:28, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

“ In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so.” It looked like somebody deleted the content, so I reverted it like it says to do, which didn’t work. I then posted this which it said to do if it isn’t resolved.

Recreate item cargo table request for zh wiki[]

I am translating content from en wiki to zh wiki, I found the item table only contains 447 item and the replacement table has 3000+ items.

We need recreate the item table for zh wiki to use ItemLink template.

Thanks.
