Even the most devolved of savages rarely fails to note the wiliness of beasts to endure countless stings in order to acquire that coveted, golden jelly of the bees. Humankind first learns to remember where wild hives grow and devise clever ways to acquire the treasure inside. As hunters become gatherers and gatherers turn to agriculture, humankind learns to propagate their own hives close to home.
