The Avatar of Bokrug is a reference to the 1920 short story "The Doom That Came to Sarnath" by H.P. Lovecraft. Bokrug was a reptilian god worshipped by the Thunn'Ha frogmen and avenged them after they were slaughtered by humans from Sarnath.
