Armor and Damage Reduction[]

Although Armor gives diminishing damage reduction percent, it is really survival time/effective health that determines your time till death, aka survivability. So damage reduction percent diminishing means that the value of armor is linear with respect to survival time.

As of the Age of Sorcery 3.0 update, the formula used is:

And since

Then

And taking the derivative, we get

Meaning +500 armor gives you +100% effective health, or +5 armor gives you +1% effective health.

At this rate, the following milestones would require the listed armor rating:

Armor Value Damage Reduction Effective Health
500 50% +100%
750 60% +150%
1167 70% +233.33%
1500 75% +300%
2000 80% +400%
2834 85% +566.67%
4500 90% +900%
9500 95% +1900%
49500 99% +9900%

Armor Penetration[]

Weapons with armor penetration reduce the effective armor the target possesses.

As of the Age of Sorcery 3.0 update, the formula used is:

Damage Reduction * (1 - Armor Penetration)

For example, if an enemy has 750 armor with 60% damage reduction, and you strike them with a weapon that has 40% armor penetration, the calculation would be:

60 * (1 - 0.4) = 36% damage reduction

Armor Class and Stamina[]

The armor weight class of your character determines your stamina regeneration rate.

  • Light Armor has 100% regeneration.
  • Medium Armor has 90% regeneration.
  • Heavy Armor has 85% regeneration.
